Notice of adoption of the Flood Risk Sequential and Exception Test Supplementary Planning Document (SPD)

On 23 November 2021, East Riding of Yorkshire Council adopted the Flood Risk Sequential and Exception Test Supplementary Planning Document (SPD). The adopted SPD provides further guidance on the application of Policy ENV6 (Managing Environmental Hazards) of the East Riding Local Plan Strategy Document and will be an important material consideration in the determination of planning applications.

Reference copies of:

  • Flood Risk Sequential and Exception Test Supplementary Planning Document (November 2021);
  • the Flood Risk Sequential and Exception Test Supplementary Planning Document Adoption Statement (this statement);
  • the Flood Risk Sequential and Exception Test Supplementary Planning Document Consultation Statement;
  • a Strategic Environmental Assessment Screening Opinion; and
  • a Habitats Regulations Assessment Screening Opinion

are available for inspection on the Council's website at: www.eastriding.gov.uk/spd

Paper copies of the above are available for inspection at the Customer Service Centre, Cross Street, Beverley HU17 9BA (the Council's Principal Office) between the hours of 9.00am and 5.00pm Monday to Thursday and 9.00am and 4.30pm Friday. Due to Covid-19 customer services are available by appointment only.

Paper copies can also be viewed at Haltemprice, Beverley, Bridlington, Driffield and Goole Libraries. They can be viewed online using computer facilities at other East Riding libraries. Please check the Council's website for opening times.

Documents can be downloaded from the above website free of charge. Paper copies may be purchased from Forward Planning (East Riding of Yorkshire Council, Room FS32, County Hall, Cross Street, Beverley HU17 9BA). Details of prices are available on request.

Any person aggrieved by the adoption of the Flood Risk Sequential and Exception Test Supplementary Planning Document may make an application to the High Court to apply for judicial review of that decision. Any such application must be made promptly and, in any event, not later than 3 months after the date of adoption by the Council.
